Severance Season 2

I'm writing this about two months late...whoops. Another remnant of the end of my university semester. But, I did watch Season 2 of Severance weekly while it was running and wanted to write a few brief thoughts on the show.

Similarly to what I wrote in my last post about the show, the cliffhangers drive me crazy but the show is almost too good to miss. The combinations of psychological thriller style plus philosophy and drama is perfect - adding in the sci-fi/dystopian elements is just a nice added bonus.

Spoiler warning! Don't read further if you have yet to watch the show!

As usual, Severance does still leave me with more questions than answers. That was fine for Season 1 but a bit irksome with Season 2. For instance - they revealed that Ms. Cobel designed/created Severance, but where exactly is that going to go? It's not like that knowledge proved useful, outside of her turning against Lumon in a sense, but that's it. I wish it delved into the history and at the least she used the intimate knowledge of the system in some better way...

The flashback episode was also strange...I kept losing track and getting confused but maybe that's just on me. Either way, I was shocked that the follow-up episode didn't end in Mark being "fully" re-integrated given what we saw of Petey and his knowledge of the severed floor. The logic behind re-integration doesn't fully make sense but maybe that's one of the questions we'll see answered.

Lastly, the Choreography and Merriment bit was genuinely fantastic - that was the one spoiler I had seen in advance of the finale but it still was not at all expected (at least the level of insanity it was XD). Mr. Milchick is a fantastic character, the only way he would be better is if he was the good guy!

I'm really excited for Season 3 to come out, this is the first time in a long time that I've been passionate about an actively airing show and wanting to watch every week. I hope the passion and hype surrounding this show doesn't wean off before then...
