Weeknotes - W21-2026
All the cool kids are writing weeknotes these days, right?
I usually don't write these kinds of updates - despite having tried in the past, I just don't love the format - but I thought since I've had a decently exciting past couple of weeks I'd write a brief update here and see if the weeknotes format sticks this time.
- Last week, I graduated from college, moved into a new place, and started a new job all in the span of a few days. It's an exciting time, lots of change, but things are finally feeling settled. I at least feel a lot better than I did during the semester...
- Because of all this free time, I'm getting back into my hobbies a bit more. First up: reading! I finished the next book in the Murderbot series, Fugitive Telemetry, this week after putting it on hold for ~2 months. The murder mystery without all the classic Murderbot hacking and tech was a bit of a turn from the rest of the series, but the twist did catch me off guard which is not common! To replace it, I started reading Dungeon Crawler Carl last night and am already loving it.
- The thing I've been most excited for over the past couple months: LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight released! As of this morning of writing this, I beat the Story Mode and will be going for 100% as I've got a bit more time. The story was awesome and I loved the amalgamation of pop culture, Batman and DC history, and just pure comedy that LEGO games manage to throw together.
- I'm trying to sort out how I want to track my video game playing. I've tried a lot of different methods, but I think starting with LEGO Batman I'm just going to track in Obsidian for now. If I end up developing my own solution down the line like I'm considering, it should be easy to import all the data I want and I can figure out the necessary fields through manual logging like that a lot easier.
- Being in a new apartment, I haven't had time to figure out finishing up my physical projects. I've been working on getting an RFID Reader working in tandem with a Pi Pico for pulling card data off, and have a few different 3D printing projects that I've been wanting to do. Getting the 3D printer up and running is going to hopefully be a next week me task, but the rest of my projects might be sitting for a bit longer now that my desk is fully taken up by work.
Hopefully this update has been interesting to at least a few people - I wanted to at least write something brief to give the few people that read this an update. I am alive and kicking, I'm working on some cool stuff, I just haven't finished anything to write about recently.. One of my goals is going to be writing here more, even if it's just these brief update posts, but I hope anyone reading this has a great week and had a great long weekend for those in the US!
